INOGATE opens new cooperation with Partner Countries in the area of energy statistics, together with Eurostat and the IEA.
2011 - 2012
INOGATE's project Support to Energy Market Integration and Sustainable Energy (SEMISE) initiates an Ad Hoc Expert Facility (AHEF) to respond to Partner Countries' demand-driven requests for energy support.

INOGATE supports the EU's sustainable energy initiatives and technical harmonisation, increasing emphasis on renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Report on the Caspian Development Corporation Implementation creates an institutional design and commercial framework to open up alternative gas supply routes from Turkmenistan and potentially other Central Asian countries.

The INOGATE Status Report sets out the status of the Partner Countries in INOGATE's four priority areas of cooperation.
2009
INOGATE begins to include representatives of regulatory bodies of its PCs in its regular Working Group meetings.

INOGATE supports the EU's sustainable energy initiatives and technical harmonisation, increasing emphasis on renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Beginning of a long-term process of introducing international energy standards in Partner Countries.
2008 - 2009
INOGATE pioneers gas loss reduction by inspecting 700 km of gas pipelines in Partner Countries, revealing a total annual loss of over EUR 2.4 million, leading to repairs, increased return on investments and benefits for the environment.
2008 - 2012
Together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, INOGATE supports investment initiatives in the Ukraine through UKEEP and in Moldova through MoSEFF. INOGATE's commitment of EUR 9.5 million has enabled these countries to access EUR 120 million of credit lines for energy-saving investments.
2007
The first INOGATE Work Plan for 2007-2008 is adopted - it is subsequently updated twice a year.
2006
The 2nd Ministerial Conference on Energy Cooperation (30 November) in Astana, Kazakhstan results in an Energy Road Map setting out a short, medium and long-term plan of action for INOGATE.

INOGATE establishes a regional office for the Caucasus in Tbilisi, Georgia.
2004
The 1st Ministerial Conference on Energy Cooperation (24 November) results in the Baku Initiative which sets out 4 priority areas of energy cooperation: convergence of energy markets, enhancing safety and security of energy supplies, sustainable development and attracting investment. Working Groups for the four areas establish an INOGATE Network.
2003
INOGATE maps priority projects of pan-European interest for future international energy transmission initiatives. Existing and potential networks of gas, oil and electricity distribution in Europe and INOGATE Partner Countries are mapped for the first time, setting the agenda for debate on new energy routes and markets. These landmark maps have had a profound effect on all subsequent international energy transmission initiatives.
2003 - 2011
INOGATE supports the construction of a major metrology centre in Boyarka, Ukraine, which is to become a regional centre of excellence for metrology technology.
2001 - 2004
INOGATE provides support for building one new cross-border gas metering station and rebuilding 9 existing ones in INOGATE Partner Countries, thus enabling increased cross-border gas trade.
1999
At the INOGATE summit in Kiev 13 countries sign the treaty that will be the cornerstone of an institutional system that is to contribute to the development of rules governing international oil and gas transit activities.
1996
The INOGATE (Interstate Oil and Gas Transport to Europe) technical assistance project, funded by the EU is established dealing with practical issues of gas and oil transportation between the CIS and the EU.
1996 - 2000
INOGATE maps, examines and assesses gas and oil infrastructures in Partner Countries. This will provide an independent evaluation for submission to major financial institutions.
1990 - 2001
The INOGATE Technical Secretariat is established in Kiev, Ukraine.
