The European Commission, with the support of Statistics Denmark and the INOGATE Technical Secretariat, will organise an international
conference on “Strategic Role of Energy Statistics in National and International Policies”, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on
23–24 April, 2013.
Detailed, timely, accurate and comparable energy statistics are the precondition for the development of coherent national energy strategies
and plans that will serve to ensure greater energy security, enhance energy investment, facilitate planning and trade and monitor the energy
sector's Greenhouse Gas emissions. Thus, this INOGATE conference aims at demonstrating the use of energy statistics for policy makers
and national planners in making conscious and well-informed policy decisions.
The conference will gather high-level officials from National Statistics Institutes, Ministries and Members of Parliament responsible for policy
and decision making in the energy sector from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
