97.02 - Hydrocarbon potential assessment

The project includes the transfer of know how and assistance to local NIS companies for the management of their resources in accordance with internationally recognised practices and standards. Specific transfer of know-how included:

• assessing the existing hydrocarbon reserves, amongst the beneficiary countries;
• assessing the investments required to upgrade probable reserves to proven reserves and identifying alternative ways of financing these investments;
• gathering and validating available data about production, reserves depletion, and new deposits;
• training the local staff on modern methods of hydrocarbon resources management.
