97.01 - Complementary feasibility studies for oil and gas from the Caspian Sea Region to Central and Eastern Europe
Based
on the preliminary conclusions of the relevant 1996 project [96.01], this
project assesses the feasibility of transporting oil and gas coming from
the Caspian sea to the Central and Eastern European Countries. For this
purpose, the assessment focused on the utilisation of existing infrastructures
after rehabilitation and on the creation of alternative routes supplementing
the existing ones, as well as on the development of supporting infrastructure
such as storage, dispatching centres and telecommunications. Romania and
Bulgaria were also beneficiaries from this project.
