INOGATE ROUND-TABLE:

"Oil and Gas Investment Opportunities in NIS Countries"

Recognising the importance of supporting energy co-operation amongst the NIS Countries and Europe, the European Commission within the framework of the INOGATE Programme has expressed its commitment to further increase its bilateral energy relations in regions such as the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe; as a result the European Commission has initiated the first major event in order to assist the state oil and gas companies to develop and promote specific interstate energy transportation projects for financing. In this context, the INOGATE Round-table entitled "Oil and Gas Investment Opportunities in NIS Countries" is scheduled to take place on 31 March 2004 in Brussels at the European Commission?s Centre Albert Borschette.

The INOGATE Round-table will promote the latest projects that have been developed by the participating NIS Countries in the sector of energy transportation to potential International Financial Institutions and International Banks and in addition will provide a forum for open discussions between all relevant key actors - policy makers, industrialists and financiers ? supporting the investment facilitation of these important projects.

This event will be organised in two sessions. The first session will consist in the presentation of eleven (11) oil and gas projects by high-level decision makers from the state oil and gas companies such as "ArmRusgasprom" CJSC, "Azerigaz" JSC, "Georgian Gas International Corporation" GIC, "Kyrgyzneftegaz" JSC, "Kyrgyzgaz" JSC, "Ukrtransnafta" JSC, and "NaftoGaz of Ukraine" NJSC. The second part will consist of a round-table dialogue involving industrial and financial actors from key countries of the EU, Central and Eastern Europe as well as the NIS.
