Provision of Assistance in the implementation of District Heating roadmap via training and guidance in the development of heat mapping (CWP.11.AZ)
Objective
INOGATE project continues to provide assistance to JSC “Azeristiliktechiza”, heat supplying company of Azerbaijan. This assistance is focused on the development of the capacity of the heating company with regards to the area of heat mapping.
Heat mapping, which maps heat demand and heat sources is a powerful tool to visualise opportunities, to assess who needs heat (demand) and where sources of heat might come from (supply), and how these can be connected in an efficient way to reduce the cost of heat supply and the carbon dioxide intensity of heat generation. It can also be used, in combination with other spatial datasets, as a tool to focus on areas of need or priority. It can be used to identify where there are opportunities for heat networks, to assess heat density and proximity to heat sources. The heat map will be updated regularly and will evolve over time.
The assistance provided by INOGATE sets the foundation for the relevant stakeholders in the heating sector to realise the full potential of district heating infrastructure, to provide a plan to balance heat supply and demand in an optimal way and ensure that investments in developing future district heating are optimised and justified.
