ITS Technical Assistance to Georgia in the field of Energy Statistics in the extension period (Feb. 2015 – Jan. 2016)
Georgia is one of the nine INOGATE PCs that have agreed upon an Energy Statistics Action Plan (ESAP) with ITS. Georgia beneficiaries have worked actively to implement the ESAP during 2012-2014.
The overarching objective of the Technical Assistance to Georgia is to improve its energy statistics systems and to increase the capacity of GEOSTAT to collect and compile energy statistics harmonised with EU and international standards.
Another objective is to consolidate the work on Energy Statistics carried out since 2012.
This Technical Assistance for Georgia aims to implement the priority-1 activities for Energy Statistics mentioned in the country work plan (CWP) for Georgia:
- CWP.16.GE: Technical assistance in the calculation of RES share and CO2 emissions for 2014.
Calculation of the share of energy from RES will be performed in line with Directive 2009/28/EC and SHARE tool.
Calculation of CO2 emission from stationary and mobile energy sources will be per-formed in line with the methodology developed under the UNFCCC.
- CWP.18.GE: Technical assistance in the:
Assessment of data collected in 2015 and assistance in the compilation of the energy balance for 2014;
Development of a statistics system to collect energy prices statistics based on Directive 2008/92/EC (transparency of energy prices).
- CWP.19.GE: Assistance in development of Quality Reports for energy statistics and energy balances
New INOGATE Technical Secretariat and integrated programme in support of the Baku Initiative and the Eastern Partnership energy objectives
