Signing of MoU on cooperation in establishment of sustainable energy information center in Moldova
Objective
The Director of the Energy Efficiency Agency of Moldova, Mr Mihail Stratan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the INOGATE Technical Secretariat, represented by its Team Leader, Mr Adrian Twomey. This mutual agreement is the first step in cooperation towards establishing a sustainable energy (SE) information centre in Moldova.
The envisaged centre will raise awareness of and promote energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy sources (RES) among different target groups and facilitate development of the SE market in the country. Among the target groups will be the general public, children, youth, representatives of industry and policy makers. The centre and its messages will be developed on the consumer level to develop new habits and customs for energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE). It will be a both a showcase for knowledge, information and know-how for the general public and a venue for meetings of experts on issues of SE.
The SE information centre is a small step in Moldova’s path of integration into the European energy market, a move that requires harmonisation of its energy policy and legislation under the Energy Community Treaty.
