INOGATE International Conference on the achievement of energy statistics Action Plans (2012-2014) and importance of improving data quality for energy statistics, balances and planning - Zagreb, Croatia, November 26-27, 2014
Objective
The INOGATE Technical Secretariat, an EU funded programme, organised the next INOGATE Energy Statistics Network (ESN) Meeting, which was held in Zagreb, Croatia, on November 25, 2014. This meeting was organised back-to-back with the International Conference on Achievement of Energy Statistics Action Plans and Data Quality, which was also held in Zagreb, Croatia, on November 26-27, 2014.
The objective of the INOGATE ESN Meeting was to facilitate sharing of experiences by the ESN representatives on the progress, which had been achieved in their respective countries on energy statistics developments.
The International Conference was planned as a two full day event consisting of several sessions. Each session allowed for interactive discussion among the participants. The first day focused on presentation and discussion of achieved results of the Action Plans and recommended follow up activities in each PC, while the emphasis on the second day was data quality, with experts from international organisations, NSIs and other relevant institutions sharing their knowledge and experience on the significance of reliable, accurate, consistent and timely data, for example, as a basis in the formulation of sound energy policies; characteristics of good quality data and recommendations on how these can be achieved.
