Comp B: Gas Transmission Aspects

Objective

During the study visit speakers explained the development and use of DVGW gas standards and how they can be combined with other European and international standards to help INOGATE Partner Countries to modernise their standardization system and improve gas safety. The study visit will also provide examples of how a European transmission network operator and a technical gas institute function.

The overall objective of this study visit was to reinforce the effort made by the PCs to their further attempt at harmonizing relevant European gas standards and updating their standardization systems. It provided an insight into good practice by a European Member State. The topics of the agenda will include:

  • The role of DVGW and DVGW standards in the legal framework in Germany
  •  Application of DVGW Technical Rules in relation with European Standards
  •  Demonstration at the gas damage facility
