Training course & study visit on “Sustainable Energy Policy” – Latvia and Lithuania
Objective
The objective of this combined workshop/study tour was to contribute to the development of integrated energy policy that develops renewable energy sources (RES), improves energy efficiency (EE) and brings economic benefits to the PCs.
This workshop improved the capacity of managers to understand the changes needed to improve energy policy, transferred concrete knowledge and improved relations between PCs and their counterparts in the EU.
Participants gained knowledge about necessary reforms and processes on the way to creating a conducive environment for sustainable energy. The event offered hands-on experience through visits and face-to-face interaction with key stakeholders in SE policy. Finally, it was an excellent networking opportunity for the participants to meet and establish contacts with their peers in the EU.
The combined workshop/study tour will help INOGATE PCs to take a step forward in approximating their policies and laws to European standards. It enhances their understanding of the advantages and challenges they could face developing integrated sustainable energy systems.
