Comp D: Signing of MoU with Kyrgyzstan

Objective

SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON STATISTICAL CO-OPERATION BETWEEN THE INOGATE TECHNICAL SECRETARIAT AND NATIONAL STATISTICAL COMMITTEE OF THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Statistical Co-operation between the INOGATE Technical Secretariat (ITS) and the National Statistical Committee (NSC) of the Kyrgyz Republic has been signed on March 6, 2013. The purpose of the MOU is to formally adopt the Energy Statistics Action Plan (ESAP) for the Kyrgyz Republic.  The ESAP, which will be the basis of implementation of ITS activities to support the development of the Kyrgyz energy statistics system, was developed and finalised through the common efforts of the ITS expert team and Kyrgyz representatives of relevant institutions dealing with energy statistics; particularly, the NSC of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

For the ITS, the MoU was signed by Team Leader, Mr. Kevin McCann in Kiev, Ukraine and for the NSC, by Chairman, Mr. Akylbek Sharipovich Osmonaliev in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.  The signing in Bishek was witnessed by Mr. Dobromir Hristov of the European Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Chynarkul Abdrakhmanova, NSC, Head of Statistics of Industry, Construction and Innovations,  and ITS Country Expert, Ms. Gulsara Kasymova. With the formal adoption of the ESAP, the first ITS Technical Assistance Mission to the Kyrgyz Republic is now being planned and organised by ITS experts in collaboration with Kyrgyz representatives.
