Meeting of the INOGATE Country Coordinators and Working Group Members 13-14 December 2011

Objective

The meeting of INOGATE Country Coordinators and Working Group Members held in Brussels on 13-14 December 2011 focused on sustainable energy investment. The prime objective of the meeting was to identify obstacles to the promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, and the measures that INOGATE could take to address this and encourage investment in the region. Presentations were made by representatives of leading institutions, including the European Commission, the European Renewable Energy Council, the European Wind Energy Association, the International Energy Agency, international financial institutions and donor organizations. In addition, case studies were presented by the Country Coordinators of Partner Countries. The information received and the ensuing discussions will feed into developing INOGATE actions and initiatives. The meeting also received reports on ongoing and forthcoming INOGATE projects, on the INOGATE Work Programme, and on the Status Report prepared by the INOGATE Technical Secretariat (ITS) indicating progress on the objectives of the Baku Initiative and the Astana Road Map.
